Vocational Learning Resources November Newsletter

Welcome to the November 2021 Vocational Learning Resources newsletter. This month we’re looking at the project we’re running to evolve our Vocational Learning Resources and how you can get involved, our new top 10 resources list, and our top users for October.

Evolving the VLRs project

The FE and Skills Content team are currently running a project to investigate how we can develop and evolve our Vocational Learning Resources so they can best meet the needs of our members.

We are currently looking to interview teaching practitioners in FE organisations across different subject areas to find out how they are using digital content in teaching and learning and what teaching staff like and dislike about digital learning content.

Participants can either be teaching practitioners who teach the subject areas related to our current Vocational Learning Resources (e.g. Construction, Digital and IT, Education and Childcare, Hairdressing and Health and Social Care) or teaching practitioners from other subject areas who use some form of digital learning content as part of their teaching practice.

We are also interested in hearing from you if there is a particular subject area that we do not currently cover but you would be interested in digital content for.

We are hoping to conduct the interviews over the next couple of weeks and the interviews will last approximately 30 minutes and will take place on Zoom.

Please do let your teaching staff know about this opportunity and if anyone is interested in getting involved, please do contact Samantha.phoenix@jisc.ac.uk for further information.

Most popular resources list

We are now going to start publishing our most popular resources each month! This will be a chance to see what other colleges are using in their teaching and learning and discover new activities that you may not be familiar with.

These will be published at the beginning of each month here on our blog site.

Top users for October

And finally, we’d also like to celebrate our top users for last month!
