Welcome to the December 2021 issue of our e-books for FE newsletter. We’ve made it to the end of another challenging year! E-book usage remained high in November, with a total of 159,481 user sessions across the subscribing colleges – the second-highest ever recorded (the highest remains last November, with 164,646). Thank you for all the work you do in promoting them.
Pearson e-book price increase
A statement from ProQuest was recently circulated to the e-book JiscMail list regarding the imminent price increase of Pearson e-books for sale on the LibCentral platform: increases of up to 500%. This will not affect any Jisc e-book titles, however, and unlimited concurrent access will remain as normal.
FE Library Community of Practice
The first drop-in session of the FE Library LRC Community of Practice was held on Wednesday 24 November, on the topic of ‘Digital Strategy’, with 60 attendees. Two presentations were given, by Loreto College and City of Bristol College, which gave valuable insights into how those organisations have been developing their digital strategy over the past 18 months. Huge thanks to the presenters and attendees.

ProQuest drop-in session for LibCentral
There is still a final drop-in session to come before the end of the year, for any questions you might have about LibCentral, e.g. purchasing titles from ProQuest, running reports, managing e-book loan settings, etc. The date and time is as follows:
