New e-book purchases and renewals
We are aiming to confirm this year’s purchase list of new titles, plus renewals, by Wednesday 11 or Thursday 12 June. This list will also confirm the current titles not being renewed.
New sub-licence document now on LSM
The e-books for FE catalogue page has been updated on the Jisc Licence Subscription Manager (LSM) and includes a copy of the new perpetual sub-licence – see the ‘Licence information’ tab at this link:

This means that no action is required, since there is no renewal process: you will continue to have access to e-books for FE beyond August this year. This change is to avoid the unnecessary admin burden of having to renew every three years, since ProQuest do not require it for their own admin of college accounts.
Sylla pilot – participants wanted
Sylla (https://www.sylla.io/) is an open education resources discovery tool enabling you to search and resource content links into the UK Curriculum. The AI element allows you to feed in course data and find relevant content.
We are seeking expressions of interest from FE institutions in participating in a 10-week pilot with Sylla. For colleges, we have agreed that the pilot will be a lighter touch and can be tailored accordingly. We can also be flexible on timeframes.
Participants’ responsibilities
- Each institution will gain access to Sylla’s platform for the duration of the pilot at no cost.
- Institutions will receive onboarding, training, and support from Sylla to maximise platform utilisation.
