FE LRC Community of Practice
We had the first drop-in session of the year on 26 January, on the theme of ‘Library online presence’, with an attendance of over a hundred FE library staff – off to a flying start!
Joy McLean, Senior Librarian at West College Scotland, discussed how the library team has used Wakelet to enhance access to digital library resources and how it fits in alongside their existing library platforms.
Mishka Fielding, Library & Study Centre Manager at Loreto 6th Form College, talked about her experience of building a new library web site in SharePoint. This in turn led to the creation of a new community Teams channel dedicated to discussions around SharePoint as a library portal solution, and there will be a dedicated drop-in session on this topic in the coming months.
The next drop-in session is Tuesday 1 March, 1-2 pm (date and time tbc), on the theme of lockdown learning points and a general ‘how are you doing’ discussion.
